Dr. Nadira Omarjee is a researcher at the Nordic Africa Institute and a Research Associate at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam and at the Women’s and Gender Studies Department at the University of the Western Cape, Cape Town, South Africa. Her research interests are in
decolonial feminist pedagogies. She is the author of Reimagining the Dream: Decolonising Academia by Putting the Last First (2018) on the student movements in Cape Town and Amsterdam.

Currently, Dr. Omarjee is working on her second book looking at the practice of flipping the classroom; bridging art, activism and scholarship and focusing on the practice of a feminist ethics of care in realising decolonial feminist pedagogies.

This workshop is presented as part of the Centre for Gender Research’s ongoing work on equal opportunities.
